AMA FLAT TRACK GRAND SLAM RECORDS

Page content updated 7/14/2017

The AMA "Grand Slam" identifies a racer who won at least one Grand National event in each of the five Grand National racing disciplines from 1961-1985. Those five disciplines are short track, TT, half mile, mile, and road race. When road races split off into their own championship series in 1986, a new term - "dirt track grand slam" - emerged to indicate racers who won at least one Grand National of the four dirt track disciplines. To avoid confusion with the true "Grand Slam" club, I refer to these racers as having "Hit For The Cycle".
